It's been quite sometime since we last heard from Fiestaboy, the owner of our longtermer Fiesta 1.4. His has been traveling (and enjoying himself quite a bit!). Below is his latest update to us.
I've noticed that there are now a lot of Fiesta running around Klang Valley. Here is a photo taken another Fiesta that happened to park beside my car. It gives a good comparison on the difference on between the full spec 1.6S hatch and the base 1.4LX manual.
I've also had the misfortune of losing some coins into the center console. I ran out of small notes to pay for my parking at some shopping mall's Autopay station. The machine returned lots and lots of 50 sen coins. So there I was back in the car, dropping the coins to the cup holders. Some of them fell through gaps between the handbrake and center console plastic piece. There is no way of retrieving them, short of removing the entire assembly. Damn!
I also noticed that the reverse sensors don't work very well in the rain. Sometimes the reverse sensor gives a constant beep even though there is clearly nothing behind the car. I reckoned that it happens in something like 3 out 10 times when operating under heavy rain, or even after a heavy down pour. Need to get this check out at the the next (first) service at 10,000km.

I experienced the same reverse sensor problem with my sentra. This is due to water drops stuck on the sensor when raining. You can polish the sensor with some car wax or even put rain-x to solve the problem.
Thanks for the tip!
