Renault Megane RS Trophy - 500 units, Europe only.

Earlier we have written about Renault teasing us with a newer hotter, more exclusive version of the Megane RS. The car is now confirmed by Renault to be a new Renault Sport Megane RS Trophy. Details of the car were revealed ahead of its June-17 launch in the Nurburgring, in conjunction Renault Sport Enthusiasts Day programme. The French media were right about it not using the R26.R badge and a limited edition run of 500 units only.

Some of vital stats :
  • 2.0-liter turbocharged engine
  • 265hp (+15hp from Megane 250 Cup)
  • 360Nm (+20Nm), available from 3,000 to 5,000rpm
  • Power-to-weight ratio of 5.09kg/hp
  • Specific power of 132.5hp/litre
  •  0-to-100kph in 6.0s (-0.1s)
  •  Top speed of 254kph (+4kph)
Despite all these heady figures, Renault claims the RS Trophy delivers a combined-cycle fuel consumption of just 8.2 litres/100km and 190g of CO2/km.

The car also wears Bridgestone Potenza RE050 rubbers as standard. The RS Trophy will also debut a new unique paint which Renault calls Sirius Yellow. The RS Trophy is differentiated from its more common Cup badged brethren via its black roof, decals, rear lip spoiler, 19-inch Gloss Black STEEV wheels with red piping, R.S. valve caps (optional or standard, depending on market), numbered plaque.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, the RS Trophy is only available in Europe. Specifically only in France, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Prices start from 35,500 Euros.

The Megane Trophy is a mid-engined racer, powered by a 3.5 V6 Nissan engine. Renault claims the car is capable of matching lap times from a Porsche 911 GT3.
