2008 Civic Facelift - spot the difference

So pictures of the minor change / facelift Civic is out. Nothing much has change. Go play spot the difference with the images below.

The front grille is slightly more angular now, while the front bumper now resembles more like the Civic Type-R (below).

At the rear , the rear tail lamp cluster now has octogonal lenses as compared to the earlier circular ones.

To be fair, there isn't really much of a need to update the Civic's design anyway. It's too "Star-Trek" like when it first came out 2 years ago in 2006. It still is too "Star-Trek" like today, especially with its ultra cool "twin-level" instrument binnacle. But personally I prefer analogue dials. I am not sure how many drivers feel this, but I find it harder to read a digital speedo as compared to a good old fashioned analogue dial - I can rely on my peripheral vision to read the speedo, without having to really focus on the numbers, which I would need to if I were driving a digital speedo car. Ever notice why really fast cars don't use digital dials. All Porsche models displays analogue speedo readouts with a smaller digital display at the bottm. But I am just being picky. Civic's user interface ergonomically sound.

Personal taste aside, park a Civic next to a newer Nissan Latio / Tiida or Corolla Altis or even the rally inspired Mitsubishi Lancer, the Civic can still firmly hold to its ground - design wise at least.

Also, the minimal changes should be good news to existing Civic owners as it mean that the residual value of their cars remain pretty much unaffected.

UPDATE : Civic Facelift / Minor Change has been launched in Thailand. Go here for more details.

How about the cabin, any changes in this facelifted version?

I can't verify this, but it could come with new stitching pattern on the interior fabrics. Of course this is only applicable to the base model with fabric seats.

Nothing major.
